ACCEPTANCE FOR REFERENCING Of THE TOPICAL REPORT CENPD-137(P).
SUPPLEMENT 2. " CALCULATIVE METHODS FOR Ti1E C-E SMALL BREAK LOCA EVALVATION MODEL" (TAC NO._M89400)
Dear Mr. Rickard:
i We have concluded our review of the subject topical report of May 1996 with additions, modifications, and clarifications tirough Anril 3, 1997, submitted by the ABB Combustion Engineering Nuclear Systems (ABB-CE) company.
The report is acceptable for referencing to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the report and in the associeted NRC evaluation, which is enclosed.
The evaluation defines the basis of acceptance of the report.
We do not intend to repeat our review of the matters described in the report and found acceptable when the report appears as a reference in license applications, except to assure that the material presented is applicable to the specific plant involved.
Our acceptance applies only to matters described in the report.
The staff reviewed CENPD-137(P)
Supplement 2, and concluded that the small-break loss-of-coolant aceident (SBLOCA) evaluation model described therein complies with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50.46 and 10 CfR 50, Appendix K, and that such applications of the SBLOCA evaluation model as described in CENPD-137(P), Supplement 2, and the enclosed safety evaluation report are, therefore, acceptable.
In accordance with procedures established in NUREG-0390 " Topical Report Review Status," we request that ABB Combustion Engineering publish accepted versions of this topical report, proprietary and non-proprietary, within 3 months of receipt of this letter.
The accepted versions shall incorporate
