SUBJECT:
TMI-1 STATUS REPORT FOR THE PERIOD May 2 - 9, 1986 Enclosed is the TMI-1 weekly status report from the NRC Resident Office at TMI-1 for the subject period. The NRC staff continued to monitor routine plant operations.
TMI-I status reports are intended to provide NRC management and the public with highlights from an NRC regulatory perspective of TMI-1 activities for the pre-vious week. Subsequent inspection reports will address many of these topics in more detail.

TMI-1 STATUS REPORT FOR THE PERIOD May 2 - 9, 1986 1.
Plant Status j
As of 8:00 a.m. on May 9,1986, TMI-1 was operating at 100 percent power and at normal reactor coolant temperature and pressure.

Facility Operations Summary l
At the start of the period, the plant was operating at 100 percent power and continued to operate at 100 percent during the reporting period.
No major problems were identified during the report period.
3.
Items of Special Interest The reactor projects section chief, the senior resident inspector and one resident inspector attended a Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) reactor type counter-part meeting at the NRC training center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, during a portion of the reporting period.
Resident inspectors and representatives of the NRC Headquarters offices of NRR and IE discussed various topics related to the B&W type reactor plant.

NRC Staff Status During the Period During this report period, the NRC staff consisted of the senior resident inspector and three resident inspectors.
The NRC staff at TMI-1 was comprised of the following personnel during the 4
