This report addresses the evaluation of the plans =and preparedness for the State of Georgia's appropriate jurisdictions I
within the 10-mile Emergency Planning zone.
Copies of this report will be forwarded to the State of Georgia and FEMA Headquarters by my staff.
All objectives of the exercise were demonstrated.
No deficiencies were identified.
However, or.' Area Requiring Corrective Action (ARCA) was identified during the exarcise.
Based on the results of th a August 20, 1997 exercise, the offsite radiological emergency res9onse plans and preparedness for the State of Georgia, and the affected local jurisdictions site-specific to the Hatch Nuclear Plant, can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.
The Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the State of Georgia's offsite radiological emergency plans and preparedness site-specific to Hatch Nuclear Plant granted on May 5, 1981, will remain in effect.
