Gentlemen; I
As a Town Meeting Member of Danvers I was privileged with a visit and tour of the entire Seabrook facility including inside t
the actual dome to house the nuclear fission components.
To the untrained eye; and I have some background in engineering, statistics, and a good deal of common sense; and, after listening to the presentation, I feel that Seabrook should be allowed to do l
low powered testing and eventually go to full power.
I think that Seabrook is a political football in a game being played by Dukakis as star piryer, and I find this offensive and
(,
to the detriment of the entire New England quadrant.
There are 108 nuclear plants of different types, used for varying purposes throughout the U.S.A.; one as close as Salem, Massachu-setts. I do not know of any cases where there has been any injury due to the malfunction of any of these 108 facilities, especially at low power.
I urge you, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to follow through with the issues which will be ner -?ed to allow licensing for low power testing.
And, in the future, to take the necessary steps to help Seabrook go on line because we are in dire need of additional power.
