USE OF ASl!E CODE CASE !!-362 FOR Tile tiPPSS flVCLEAR PLAriT tl0. 2, C0CKET fi0. 50-397 The !!cchanical Engineering Branch has completed its review of the l'ashington Public Power Supply System (liPPSS) request for authorization to use ASI'.E Code Case fi-362 for application in the construction of the primary containment for tiPPSS iluclear Plant !!o, 2, Docket fio. 50-397, as identified in the applicant's letter G02-84-071, dated February 10, IS84.

As previously noted in-the telephone conversation.between T. A. Stanley and P. L. Powell (!!PPSS-2) and R. Kirkwood (f4RC) on February 10, 1584, Code Case it-362, dated February 14,1983, " Pressure Testing of Contain-nent Itens,Section III, Division 1," is an acceptable code case and is approved by the Ccmission for general use and nay be used in the pressure testing of containnent itens for tiPPSS fluclear Plant lin 2.

Code Case ll-362 is approved as written with no additional requirenents other than those specified in the code case. This code case will be identified as acceptable in Revision 22 of Regulatory Guide 1.84 which is in the course of preparation.

Use of the Code Case should be documented in the FSAR.
