(Seabrook Station, Units 1 and 2) 5 Docket Nos. 50-443 and 50-444 Gentlemen:

S As you are aware frcm having received a copy of my letter dated October 31 to the r(presentatives of the parties, the meeting of parties previously proposed for November 6 has been rescheduled for November 15, 1978.

The reason for the postponement is to accommo-l date the request of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a more reasonable time in which to prepare comments on the large volume of draft NRC Staff testimony which was delivered to the parties on October 30.

As we indicated in our prehearing status report dated September 7, 1978, the date for filing the Staff's final direct testimony depends on the outcome of the meeting.

If the meeting does not result in a need to alter the nature or scope of the testimony we expect to be able to file it during the week of November 20.

If that expectation is modified by the outcome of the meeting we will inform.the Board.

Sincerely, s

w e
