Dear Mr. Boyd:
Georgia Power Company hereby informs the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of changes in the Vogtle Nuclear Plant onsite meteorological measurement programs as described in the PSAR. The data are continuously recorded on strip chart recorders and, in addition, are recorded in digital form on magnetic tape.
We will continue to record data on strip charts and will process the data from the strip chart records as stated in the PSAR.
In addition, we have discontinued collection of data from the vertical ar,d horizontal bivane instruments located at the 100 foot elevation described in the PSAR.
However, we will continue to collect wind speed, wind direction, and ambient air temperature data at a minimum of two levels as stated in Safety Guide 23.
We wish to point out that the magnetic tape recordings and use of bivanes were voluntarily used and were not required by the NRC Staff.
Our judgment now is the information is suoerfluous.
Should you have any quettiw, please advise.
Yours truly,
