Dear Dr. Grace:

You are cordially invited to join us on October 30 for ceremonies to recognize the McGuire and Oconee branches of the National Academy for Nuclear Training.

The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m.

and will be followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Our ceremony at Oconee will begin at 3:30 p.m.

and will be followed by a barbecue at 5:00 p.m.

The National Academy for Nuclear Training was established in 1985 to coordinate and unify the training efforts of the electric utilities that operate nuclear plants in the United States.

Administered by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), it provides a structured approach to training and recognizes individuals who successfully complete accredited training programs.

In August 1983, operator training programs at Duke's Oconee Nuclear Station were the first ever accredited by INPO.

Accreditation of training programs at all of a utility's nuclear plants is a condition of full membership in the academy.

When a utility's programs are accredited, each plant becomes a branch of the academy.

Duke Power Company is proud of its excellent training programs and proud to be a part of the National Academy for Nuclear Training.

I hope you will be able to join us for the accreditation presentations.

Please call Roberta Bowman at (704) 373-3208 to indicate whether you can or can not attend.

I thank you for your continued interest in Duke Power Company's nuclear operations and look forward to seeing you o tober 30.

c Sincerely, W.
