Amendment No. 37 to Facility Operating License
Dear Sir:
Subject:
Fire Protection System hodifications This is to confirm that Item 3.1.2a of Table 3.1 in Reference (b) above, was accomplished during the 1978 refueling outage.
The nozzles on the hose stations adjacent to the control room were replaced with nozzles suitable for use in electrical equipment areas.
As additional hose stations are provided, or as existing nozzles are replaced, the nozzles provided do not require going through the straight stream mode prior to the fog mode.
In those areas containing only high voltage or sensitive electrical equipment, those replacement nozzles will be of the all-fog type.
The only existing hose stations at Maine Yankee are on the Turbine Building. These were checked to assure that the existing hose lengths cover all areas of the Turbine Building. The substandard pipe fitting at hose station 79 has been replaced, and the hose length limited to 75 feet of 1 1/2 inch hose.
We trust that the above information is sufficient for your use.
If you require more, please contact us.
Yours very truly, Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company sW&
