STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON PROPOSED EXPORT OF HIGH ENRICHED URANIUM TO CANADA,9:00 A.M.,
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16,1999, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission was briefed by several groups on issues related to the proposed export of high enriched uranium to Canada. The first panelincluded representatives of the applicant Transnuclear Inc. on behalf of Atomic Energy of Canada, Ltd. and MDS Nordion. The second paral was representatives from the Nuclear Control institute. The final panel was representatives from the executive branch including the Department of State, the Department of Energy, and Argonne National Laboratory.
Subsequent to the meeting, the Commission affirmed an Order on this export license on Tuesday, June 29,1999.
