Chilk, Secretary U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C.
20555 Attn:
Docketing and Service Branch
Dear Mr. Chilk:
I support the proposed NRC rule which would allow low-power testing at nuclear power plants to begin without having a full scale emergency notification system in place.
The NRC is correct in pointing out that the risk of operations during low-power testing is very small.
For a nuclear power plant, like Seabrook Station -- one of the safest nuclear powar plants ever built -- to be delayed further, because local opponents have removed an excellent notification system, does not make sense.
Continued use of nuclear power must be a cornerstone to U.S.
energy policy.
I urge the NRC to support thic proposed rule and maintain a vital energy option in this country.
I b
Sincerely, UEk GL.
