MODIFICATION NO. 3 TO TASK ORDER NO. 8 ENTITLED " REVIEW OF SEVERE ACCIDENT MITIGATION DESIGN ALTERNATIVES FOR THE J
WESTINGHOUSE AP600 DESIGN" UNDER CONTRACT NO. NRC-03-93-032 This confirms verbal authorization provided to you on July 7,1997 from Ms.
Anita Hughes of my staff, to extend the period of performance of the subject task order until August 31. 1997 to allow for the continuance of work.
The effective date of this modification is July 7.1997.
l The purpose of this modification is to: (1) extend the expiration date of the l
subject task order from June 30, 1997 through August 31, 1997. (2) obligate additional funds in the amount of $10.783. thereby increasing the task order->
obligated and ceiling amounts by $10.783 from $52.343 to $63.125, and (3) change the Job Code Number for the basic task order from "J-2254-5" to "J-2002".
The extension is necessitated to allow the contractor to incorporate comments provided by NRC's licensee. Westinghouse and the NRC on the draft Technical Evaluation Report (TER) into a final TER and submit this report to the NRC. _ The additional funds are recuired to allow SEA to perform a further analysis of certain candidate SAMDAs cue to new developments that occurred during the fifteen month delay in work caused by Westinghouse. As the period of performance initially expired on June 30, 1997, any costs l
incurred between July 1. 1997 and July 6. 1997 will not be reimbursed.
In accordance with Section G.5(c) of the subject contract entitled " Task Order Award." this letter definitizes Modification No. 3 to the subject task order.
The second paragraph of the definitization letter of the basic task order is deleted in its entirety and substituted with the following in lieu thereof:
" Task Order No. 8 shall be in effect from August 16. 1995 through July 31.
1996, with a cost ceiling of $63.125.
The amount of $58.217 represents the total estimated reimbursable costs, the amount of $4.658 represents the fixed fee, and the amount of $250 represents the facilities capital cost of money."
