Subject:
RAI - Steam Generator Pressure Assumed in Small Break LOCA Analysis Gentlemen:
L In Reference (b) your staffissued a request for additional information (RAI) on our initial steam generator secondary side pressure assumptions for a small break LOCA. The purpose of this letter l
is to respond to the RAI.
Maine Yankee's response is enclosed. We trust that the information in this letter is satisfactory.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Very truly yours, Q,

Maine Yankee Response to Request for AdditionalInformation Steam Generator Pressure Assumption for SBLOCA i
NRC OUESTION Provide the steam generator secondary side pressure assumed in the SBLOCA analyses of record for MYAPS for fuel cycle 4 and all subsequent fuel cycles.
M AINE YANKEE RESPONSE l
The small break LOCA analysis performed by Combustion Engineering (CE) for Cycle 4 l
remained the analysis of record through approximately the middle of Cycle 13. During Cycle 13, Yankee Atomic Electric Company re-analyzed the small break LOCA and considered an expanded range ofinitial steam generator pressure. During Cycle 15, the Cycle 4 CE analysis was reinstated c.s the analysis of record but with an evaluation of the changes to the analysis i
assumptions to reflect Cycle 15 operation. For Cycle 16, the proposed Siemens Corporation analysis, currently under NRC review, considers a range of operating pressure. The steam generator secondary side pressure assumptions for Cycle 4 and all subsequent cycles are summarized below.

CE provided a plot of the steam generator pressure response for the analysis described in Reference 1.
Please note that in Reference 4 we incorrectly reported an initial steam generator pressure of 835
. psig in Table 3.3. The correct value is 877 psig.
