SUBJECT:

120-day Response to NRC Generic Letter 97-01 Generic Letter (GL) 97-01 requested addressees within 120 days to (1) describe their past and planned programs for inspection of PWR control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) and other vessel closure head penetrations, and (2) provide a history of abnormal plant primary system chemistry information, including a description of actual or indicated resin bead intrusions which have exceeded chemistry guidelines.

Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) has participated with the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CEOG) program in addressing the requests in GL 97-01. The CEOG submitted to the NRC, on behalf of CEOG members, CE NPSE-1085, CEOG Response to NRC (ieneric Letter 97-01, Degradation of CEDM Nozzle and Other Vessel Closure Head Penetrations (Referenc+

This report incorporates the information for Fort Calhoun Station necessary to 1
