TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT i

Summary of Operating Experience g

5 February 1988

' [j 3

\\

,The plant entered'the month in Mode 1 at 100% power.

7,[

A' containment ventilation isolation system actuation occurred on February 3 during performance of a containment pressure W

. reduction.

The isolation was initiated by a Process Radiation

,?bpitor for which the setpoint was established at too low a value.

I D:. ring a surveillance test of the

'A' train of the Control Room vent 31ation system (CB-1A) on February 3, makeup air flow was found to be approximately 10 cfm above the maximum denign limit of l

525 cfm.

The makeup air damper position was adjusted to restore I

makeup flow to its allowable range.

The

'B' train was tested and found to be satisfactory.

l On February 12 at 0100 hours0.00116 days
0.0278 hours
1.653439e-4 weeks
3.805e-5 months
, power was reduced to 90% for main turbine stop valve testing.

Power was returned to 100% at 0200.

I

'g s

l On February 23 pressurizer pressure tr9asmitter PT-456 failed j

high.

A new transmitter was installed-and placed in service on February 26.

On February 26 at 0124 hours0.00144 days
0.0344 hours
2.050265e-4 weeks
4.7182e-5 months
, power was reduced to 90% for turbine valve testing.

Power was returned to 100% at 0235.

On February 28 at 0218 hours0.00252 days
0.0606 hours
3.604497e-4 weeks
8.2949e-5 months
, the plant experienced a 35 MWe load rejection due to tripping of a 500 Kv intertie.

Power was e

promptly returned to 100%.

Power was subsequently reduced to 93%

from 0240 until 0340 due to the intertie trip.

Maintenanco l

The following major maintenance was performed during February:

Replaced leaking casing drain valve for south centrifugal (larging pump.

Replaced failed pressurizer pressure transmitter PT-456.

}

tepaired Sullair air compressor temperature control system to stop intermittent compressor trips.

Licenso Amendm+nts No license antendments were received during February.
