CP-86-54 (SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On October 3,1986, we notified you by cv letter logged TXX-6007 of a deficiency involving the design and insta.lation of the control room ceiling which we deemed reportable under the p.ovisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Our latest report on this-issue, logged TXX-88371, was submitted March 30, 1988. This report is submitted to clarify and status corrective actions completed to date.

The structural modifications required as a result of Corrective Action Program (CAP) validation activities have been completed with the exception of open inspection issues. The engineering evaluation of lighting and conduit supports including associated construction rework is necessary because of SDAR CP-85-36, "Train C Conduit Supports." This work was discussed in previous correspondence (TXX-88207 and TXX-88371) on SDAR CP-86-54 because it impucted complete installation of the new ceiling. The evaluation of lighting and conduit supports (impacting the control room ceiling) under SDAR CP-85-36 was completed by May 31, 1988. The associated construction rework for SDAR CP-85-36 will be completed consistent ws:h the PCHVP as discussed in correspondence on that SDAR. No further reports related to SDAR CP-86-54 are anticipated.

Very truly yours, W. G. W W. G. Counsil h!bD By:
