CLAR!FICATION OF UNDERSTANDING OF SAFETY EVALUATION RELATED TO AMENDMENTS 138/129
Dear Mr. Anderson:
During review of the safety evaluation accompanying Amendments 138/129 to the Prairie Island Technical Specifications, dated September 22,1998, your staff raised several questions that were subsequently discussed and resolved with the NRC staff during a telephone call on October 15,1998. The telephone call was documented.in a letter from Mr. J. Sorensen to the NRC dated November 6,1998. The staff has reviewed Mr. Sorensen's letter and agrees with the Northern States Power Company (NSP) characterization and resolution of the issues. None of the questions reised by NSP changed the conclusions of the staff expressed in the safety evaluation accompanying Amendments 138/129.
