This letter confirms discussions between myself and Mr. Steven Toelle, United States ,

Enrichment Corporation's Nuclear Regulatory Assurance and Policy Manager, to hold two l routine management meetings on December 15,1998, in the Region lli office, Lisle, Illinois. )

i The purpose of the first meeting, to be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., is to discuss the status of I improvement plans for ensuring a safety conscious work environment and for the elimination of localized pockets of concern. Based upon my discussions with Mr. Toelle, the meeting will be closed to public observation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. to allow for the potential that your staff .

may discuss personnel issues associated with the ongoing efforts to eliminate the localized j pockets of concern. i The purpose of the second meeting, to be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., is to discuss the implementation status of corrective action plans for the nuclear criticality safety program and the basis for proposed changes to the completion dates for some corrective actions.
