POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 On Fettuary 25, 1988, Messrs. D. Wagner and A. Nolan of your staff telephoned to discuss the use of qualified output isolation relays in the AMSAC design for our Point Beach Nuclear Plant. Details of the AMSAC design had been previously provided to the NRC with our letter; 4ated April 23 and December 30, 1987.
As requested by the NRC, we committed to using isolation relays in the AMSAC which are qualified in accordance with the requirements of Appendix A to the NRC's Safety Evaluation of Topical Report WCAP-10858. A copy of this evaluation was provided to us with Mr. Colburn's letter dated September 17, 1986.
We also committed to maintain information on-site at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant which provices documentation or the qualification. This letter confirms these commitments.
We understand that these commitments will satisfy the remaining open items with regard to your evaluation of the AMSAC design for Point Beach.
