Dear Mr. Stuart:

This letter responds to your letter' dated January 26, 1988 that presents a sumary description of the programatic controls that GE Nuclear Training Services expected to have established by the end of 1987 as requested in our inspection report No. 99900403/87-04.

In your sumary description, you indicate that the General Manager, Nuclear Plant Services Department, has approved and issued Field Quality Procedure No.14, entitled, "Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Training Services."

The new procedure includes adhorence to the provisions of 10 rJR Part 21 for reporting of defects and noncompliances in training services, and compliance to the applicable provisions of 10 CFR Part 50,' Appendix B for quality assurance requirements for all training courses offered. We find your comitments for programatic control of the training services area to be acceptable, and plan to review the adequacy of their implementation during a .

future inspection.

Should you have any questions concerning our inspection or the above response, we would be pleased to discuss them with you.

Sincerely,
