00CKEi9.t:1, k wiq I wish to state my support of the NRC's proposecBitARe change clarifying the regulations for the public notification system required to be in place for low power licensing.
As a resident of New Hampshire, I have been disgusted by the efforts of Massachusetts off.'tals to stop the licensing of the
[
Seabrook Power Plant for what A ears to be their own political gains.
As the Massachusetts officials u
- every effort to stop the licensing process, including dismantling an operable siren system, the cost of the plant increases. The owners of Seabrook have made a good faith I
effort to provide for the safety of the public including the develop-ment of their own evacuation plan for the Massachusetts communities near the plant. These efforts demonstrate the likelihood that the required emergency response plans will be in place for commercial operation.
1 l
The electricity needs of New England require Seabrook to be I
placed in operation. The adoption of the proposed rule change will provide for a more orderly licensing process which may be conducted in a timely position.
