Their safety is also just as important, and really more important than material 'tems of need and pleasure.
I am retired with 20 years of service with the U. S. Air Force.
I chose to live in tiie Seacoast Area of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts knowing very well that Seabrook Power Sts. tion was being built.
In fact I applied there for work in 1982 and I am still working there. We have military installations with nuclear weapons and nuclear submarines within 20 miles. Completely safe! We are virtually surrounded by nuclear power plants from within Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.
All very safe and history proves it out.
Automobiles, cancer, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, venereal disease and numerous others. singularly kill more people in the United States in one year than have ever died from the Nuclear Power Industry in the whole world.
The containment at Three Mile Island did its designed function.
Seabrook Station is safer.
In fact, I believe it is the safest, not only in the U.S.A.,
but in the world.
Seabrook was built with the mistakes of other plants in mind.
I do support Seabrook Power Station going on the line and commercially supplying power that is badly needed throughout New England. Political gain is a corrupt motivation to keep Seabrook shut-down. Whoever haard of Mike Dukakis prior to crying about Seabrook.
It gave him the national publicity that was needed to get his name to the U. S. public for presidential nomination.
What a shame and disgrace to our governmental system. Give Seabrook a license to operate!!!
