June 22, 1988 Secretary of the Commission Attn: Docketing snd Service Branch Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 i

Dear Secretary:

[

I I am writing to give my supr, ort to the Clarification of Emergency Planning Requirements for Low Power Licensing.

As an employee of New Hampshire Yankee, I see daily the commitment and dedic -

tion of my fellow employees to provide much needed energy to New England and the concern for public safety.

4 My support is based on the following facts:

 • If all Safety Systems failed it would take longer than 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
to cause serious damage to the plant.
 • The strength brook's double walled containment structure is so great that, even wit safety systems, the containment would not fail during low power operation.

As a Seacoast Resident, I urge you to put a stop to all the political nonsense l

and allow Saabrook Station to operate.
