PROPOSED RULF No FR/6ygf, 3,;g ;; June 22, veo n tF.C Secretary of the Commission
's AN 23 P1 :56 Attn: Docketing and Service Branch U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission OU J.

Washington, DC 20555 00CKEhh i 4 ii+'VICI BH? W Gentlemen:
Nuclear power energy sources are a vital need for our country and especially New England.
If, through political posturing, we overlook the real energy situation in this country, not only will we be short on power, but the time for careful evaluation, study and development of alternative cources of energy will be severly shortchanged.
Seabrook Station must be allowed to proceed with low power testing.
I support the proposed rule to allow 5% power testing of Seabrook without off-site emergency sirens. Please note that such sirens are in place in New Hampshire, and that Seabrook has in place an alternative notification system for Massachusetts.
In my four years with New Hampshire Yankee, I have only seen the best effort of all individuals to ensure the safety of individuals and protection for the envi-ronment. The whole country does not need to be made to suffer due to the political ambitions of a very few. Nuclear energy is not new, it has been around for more than thirty years. With our unending thirst for luxury, it is time we were willing to deal with the reality of what that entails.
To reiterate, I support the proposed rule as amended.
Sincerely,
)Ii QZdq
