Amato of this office and other members of an NRC team on conducted b State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, New York,. South Campus, f 1988 at the Buffalo Materials Research Reactor Discussions o our findings were held by Mr. Amato with a member of the staff at the conclusich :,f the inspection. Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I inspection report which is enclosed. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of observation of the emergency exercise by team members to determine effectiveness of emergency preparedness training. Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. The Buffalo Research Center's staff performance during the exercise demonstrated the ability to implement the emergency plan and procedures in a manner that would provide adequate protective measures for the health and safety of the staff. The effectiveness of your emergency preparedness training was also demonstrated No reply to this letter is required. Your cooperation with us in this matter is appreciated.
