Letter to the Editor: The NRC is beginning to look like a radical anarchistic group, instead of a federal agency in a democratic ~ government. Is there any rule the NRC won't dismantle, in order to license the Seabrook plant? No one has said it as well as Congressman Nick Mavroules: "We've been through living hell in Seabrook, N.H." For more than two years the people have had to respond to one arrogant trick after cnother, by either the NRC or New Hampshire Yankee against the right.s of the people. Rep. Mavroules goes on to say, " I have drawn the inescapable conclusion that the NRC has lost sight of the fact that safety is their paramount concern." Now the NRC is playing with a rule change in order that Seabrook Station may run at 5% power, without the need of sirens or other warning systems in place. As if the FEMA flip-flop was not bad enough! People in the 10 mile radius have long acknowledged thct they are fighting in a "David and Goliath" situation. This analogy now appears to apply to our Congressional Delegation, Senators Kennedy and Kerry, and Congressman Mavroules. They must wage a colossal battle to l win over Congress against an administration and its agencies i which are bent on licensing the Seabrook plant at any cost. l The people thank their Senators and Congressman in advance for this colossal effort.
