NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-1151/88-15 This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Comission (NRC) inspection conducted by J. L. Kreh on October 27-28, 1988. The inspection included a review of activities authorized for your Columbia Plant. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection censisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews witn personnel, and observation of activities in progress.
Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or deviations were identified. However, a significant weakness was identified involving failure to conduct the annual radiological emergency drill at your facility in a manner that would adequately test your ability to implement the Site Emergency Plan.
As discussed in paragraph 2 of the report, you have comitted to the implementation of prompt corrective action to address this finding.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice." Part 2 Title 10. Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed ir, the NRC Public Docurent Room.
