This letter is being submitted per 10CFR31.5(c)(8) requirements as they apply to the transfer of byproduct material contained in a device manufactured for the purpose of detecting radiation.
On November 11,1997, one Beckman liquid scintillation counter model LS5801 catalog number 585304 serial number 7015383; containing one 30 microcurie (assayed: May 20,1988) Cesium-137 sealed source part number 598860 serial number 80421002-A, was transferred from the Public Service Electric and Gas Company Nuclear Training Center located on Chestnut Street in the City of Salem New Jersey to the Salem Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 located on Alloway Creek Neck Road in Hancocks
