This mooification is issued to revise Subtasks C,D and F under Task Order No. 008, "Evaluation of Major SAR Modules for West Valley Demonstration," at no additional cost to the Government. The task order is therefore modified as follows:
Pursuant to paragraph G.10, Task Orders, the contractor shall perform Task Order No. 008 in accordance with the revised Statement of Work dated December 2,1987, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The revised S0W supercedes Section 2.0 of the S0W transmitted on August 14, 1987, as Modification No. 9.

DEC's, 1981 Task Description Project Evaluation of Major SAR Modules for West Valley Demonstration Task 008, NRC-02-87-004 2.0 Work Required Subtask A - Cement Solidification System The Contractor shall review and comment on preliminary infonnation and the SAR on the cement solidification system. The potential for radiological accidents which can affect the health and safety of the public will be assessed. The capability of the system to package wastes to meet established criteria for the protection of the health and safety of the public will be assessed.
We estimate one man-month of effort for this subtask.
a Subtask 8 - Liquid Waste Treatment System The Contractor shall review and comment on preliv.1Nry ir. formation and the SAR on the liquid waste treatment system. This review will be coordinated with the review of subtask A on the cement solidification system. The potential for radiological accidents which can affect the health and safety of the public,will be assessed. The quantities of waste produced from this system will be estimated. We estimate two man-months of effort for this subtask.
Subtask C - Supernatant Treatment System The Contractor shallreview and comment on the SAR for the supernatant treatment system. The potential for radiological accidents that could affect public health and safety will be assessed.

6 SAR on the vitrification facility. The emphasis in this subtask will be on potential accidents and the release of radioactivity through the ventilation systems. Operational controls, including instrumentation, will be assessed. We estimate five man-months for this subtask.
Subtask E - Sludge Mobilization The Contractor shall review and comment on preliminary information provided by DOE on sludge mobilization. The potentie.1 for radiological accidents which can affect the health and safety of the public will be assessed. We estimate a two man-month effort for this subtask.
Subtask F - Low-level Waste Storage The Contractor shall review and comment on the preliminary infomation and the SAR for the drum cell storage for Class B and C low-level waste. The Contractor will also review the SAR for lag storage and supercompaction of class A low-level waste.' The potential for radiological accidents which could affect the health and safety of the public will be assessed. We estimate three man-months effort for this subtask.
