The contractor's proposal of December 28, 1987 and subcontractor's proposal of February 1988, for the performance of additional tasks as described in the attached statement of work, are hereby accepted and incorported by reference.
As a result, Section C.1, Description /
Specifications / Work Statement is modified to include the additional tasks identified in the attached Statgmegt of Work.
2.
Section B.1 Consideration and Obligation is revised by increasing the total ceiling amount of the contract by 197,568.00 from $85,732.00 to $183,300.00. Of the total ceiling amount $33,930.00 represents the Fixed Prire for performance of the basic contract effort, 15,425.00 represents the ceiling for performance of sdditional Support, as required, per Section C, Task number 8 of the contract, 12,592.00 represents the ceiling for Travel associated with performance of Task numbar 8,
$43,785.00 represents the cost ceiling (i nc l usi ve of fixed fee) for performance of odditional tasks 1 through 5 (added to the contract under Modification No.
3), and $97,568.00 represents the cost ceiling for performance of additional tasks (added to the contract under.his Modification No. 5), of which 190,341.00 represents total estimated reimbursable cost and $7,227.00 represents the fixed fee.

Section D.1, Consideration and Obligation is revised by changing the due date for the "Final Regulatory Analysis Report" to December 71, 1988.

STATEMEllT OF WORK The contractor will perform the following additional tasks:
1.
Evaluate existing plant-specific PRA's using seal failure probability-leakage model obtained from flVREG/CR-4906P (AECL) to determine the core melt frequency resulting from station blackout.
The plant specific PRA's selected should be representative of the high, middle and low cluster plants as given by fiUREG-1032 for fregaency of station blackout duration, f ig. B 7.
PRA's selected should represent Westinghouse plants since the seal leakage model (fiUREG/CR-4906P) to be used represents a Westinghouse RCP seal. Modify cristing PRA's to incorporate AECL seal model assuming both existing 0-ring and improved 0-ring material. Characterize the core nelt frequency for these plants as a function of time for both cases.
2.
For the same plant specific PRA's, characterize the core melt frequency as a function of time assuming an emergency station blackout seal cooling system wi th various reliabili ties (i.e., R=0.9 to 0.99).
3.
The contractor will submit a draf t letter report sumarizing results of these additional tasks for tiRC review and comment.
4.
The finalized results shall be incorporated by the contractor in the Regulatory Analysis Report to justify the core melt frequency averted by g
an emergency seal cooling system for station blackout.
Level of Effort The estimated level of effort for performance of required tasks is four (4) man months. The evaluation of three (3) PPA's is anticipated.
Schedule / Deliverables The cuatractor shall provide the !!RC with Final Report by Dec er.be r 31, 196S.
