OF NUMAPC-NRC FOLLOWUP MEETING TO DISCUSS MOTOR OPERATED VALVE HYDRAULIC LOCKUP DUE TO GREASE IN THE SPRING PACK

"MOV Failure Due to Hydraulic Lockup from Excessive Grease in Spring Pack," by E. J. Brown, AE00/E70?, March 19,1987 NUMARC met with AE0D and other NPC staff on February 4,1968 to discuss the status of their review of motor operated valve hydraulic lockup problems. We had previously met with NUMARC on December 18, 1987 to provide operating event infomation obtained subsecuent to AE0D report E702 and to request NUMARC review of the information. A list of meeting attendees is enclosed..

e Subsequently, the EPRI Nuclear Maintenance Assistance Center (NMAC) accepted the task to investigate MOV hydraulic lockup due to excessive grease in the spring pack as part of the overall industry MOV Program.
It was reported that
