SUBJECT:
MINUTES OF CRGR MEETING NUMBER 125 The Comittee to Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) met on Wednesday, November 25, 1987 from 1-4 p.m.
A list of attendees for this meeting is enclosed (Enclosure 1). The following items were addressed at the meeting:
1.
T. Murley, NRR; T. Speis, RES; B. Sheron, RES; and F. Coffman, RES briefed the Comittee on the status of development of licensee guidance and plans for the implementation of the Individual Plant Examinations called for in the Comission's Severe Accident Policy Statement.
The Comittee provided a number of comments for improvement of the IPE package. This matter is discussed in Enclosure 2.

The Committee considered a proposal by RES for exception from CRGR review of two Reg. Guides listing and/or endorsing current ASME Code Cases and a request for review by the Committee of the CRGR Charter to detemine whether the CRGR Chairman has the discretion to waive review of all such Reg. Guides in the future. The Cossaittee directed the CRGR staff to prepare a memorandum providing the basis for EDO consultation with the l
NRC Chaiman on this matter. This matter is discussed in Enclosure 3.
In accordance with the E00's July 18, 1983 directive concerning "Feedback and Closure on CRGR Reviews," a written response is required from the cognizant office to report agreement or disagreement with CRGR recomendations in these minutes.
The response, which is required within five working days after receipt of these meeting minutes, is to be forwarded to the CRGR Chairman and if there is disagreement with the CRGR recomendations, to the EDO for decisionmaking, d
