t WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1988, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTil, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE) l The Commission was briefed by the staff on NRC's diagnostic evaluation program.
The Commission requested the staff to review the NRC's overall inspection programs and eliminate or modify those programs which are duplicative or inefficient.
The review should also assess the effect on licensee resources and corrective programs in response to previous NRC directives.
As part of the diagnostic evaluation, the staff should review available documentation from various sources who may have previously evaluated the plant.
The Commission also requested the biographic data of the diagnostic evaluation teams' management contractors.
