RESPECTING CONSTRUCTION OF GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION (GGNS) UNIT 2 1

l FOR SIX MONTHS ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1987 Construction Highlights Unit 2 construction was suspended in September 1985 with l

approximately 35% of field construction completed based on the estimated manhours needed to. complete the Unit. Minimal Unit 2 activities were for the purpose of long term equipment and structural maintenance.

I Vehicular Movement No "off limit" violations were observed during the reporting period.

- Dust Control No dust control violations were observed during the reporting period.

Smoke Control i

No smoke violations occurred during the six-month reporting period.

Erosion Control Rainfall was recorded on 34 occasions during the reporting period, with an accumulated total of 18.75 inches, i

Chemical & Solid Waste Control t

No violations or improprieties of Mississippi vaste disposal regulations occurred.

Noise Control No excessive noise levels were detected during the reporting period.

Attachment Page 2 AECM-88/2-0001 Sediment Basins A & B There were no construction-associated problems with Sediment Basins A or B during the reporting period.

Regional Groundwater Dewatering Wells The 12 regional groundwater wells were read 13 times during the reporting period with no problems encountered.

The perched aquifer wells were read monthly during the reporting period.

No well exceeded the 109 feet Mean Sea Level design basis for GGNS, Vegetation Survey No vegetational abnormalities were observed during the reporting period.

Transmission Lines No erosion problems associated with the GGNS transmission lines were identified during the reporting period.
