Dear Mr. Sipek:
i By letter dated January 14,1997, you applied for an exemption from 10 CFR 73.55,
" Requirements for Physical Protection of Licented Activities in Nuclear Power Reactors Against 1
Radiological Sabotage," for the Clinton Power Station. The exemption was necessary for Illinois Power to implement an alternative unescorted access control system. Subsequently, by letter dated October 29,1998, you withdrew the request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the above-cited application is being treated as withdrawn.
