The f ailure of the circuit breelers was deterriined to be related to the stithirig of the undervcittge trip attachr;ent. Prior to this incident, on February 22, 1983, at Unit 1 of the Salem Kuclear Power Plant, an autoratic trip sigral v.as g(nerated based on steat. generator icv-low level during plant start-up.
In this c6se, the reactor was tripped nanually by the operator alrost toir.cidentelly witn the autorootic trip.

As a result of this investigation, (hRC) requested (by Generic.etter 83-28 dated July E, 1983) the Corrissich r

This report is en evaluatico of the response subritted by Gulf States Utilities Corpany, tre licensee for the Piver Bend Station for item 2.1. (Part 2) of Generic le'ter 83-28.
The actual docuvents reviewed as part of this evaluation are listed in the referentes at the end of this report.
Item 2.1 (Part 2) requires the licensee to confirm that an interface has been establisted with the N!!! cr witt the vendors of each of the corror erts of the kesctor Trip Systern which includes:
