Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Notification of a Change in Operator Status This letter serves as notification in accordance with the requirements of 10CFR55.25 and 10CFR50.74(c) of the diagnosis of certain medical conditions and the resulting change in status of the Reactor Operator identified below.

Peter R. Schelenz 55-62081 OP-11243 On October 21,1998, a medical examiner from PECO Energy Company's Occupational Health and Safety Department determined that this individual no longer meets the standards as set forth in Section 5.4 of American Nuclear Society Standard ANSI /ANS 3.4-1983, Medical Certification and Monitoring of Personnel Requiring Operator Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," as originally certified to the NRC.

The specific medical condition for this individual is identified in Attachment 2, which contains confidentialinformation, the disclosure of which would constitute an unwarranted invasion of the personal privacy of the individual involved. Therefore, the information in Attachment 2 is being submitted to the Commission with a request that it be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10CFR2.790(a)(6) of the Commission's Regulations, and is only being submitted to the Regional Administrator, U.S. NRC Region 1. Attachment 1 to this letter is an Affidavit setting forth the reasons in support of this request to withhold from public disc!osure. The medical condition for this individual is being accommodated through an appropriate medical regime prescribed by the individual's primary care provider.

1. I am Vice President, Limerick Generating Station of PECO Energy Company and I am duly authorized to execute this affidavit. j

2. PECO Energy Company has requested, in accordance with Section 2.790 of the Commission's Regulations, that certain information being submitted to  !

the Commission in Attachment 2 to this letter be withheld from public disclosure. j

3. This information contains personnel and medical files, the disclosure of which would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of the personal privacy of the individualinvolved.

4. The information contained in Attachment 2 is of the type customarily held in confidence by PECO Energy Company and is not customarily disclosed to the public. The information has not been disclosed to the public and is not available from public sources.
