SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 12,1998, WITH THE LICENSING AND DESIGN BASES CLEARINGHOUSE On November 12,1998, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staf,f met with the Licensing and Design Bases Clearinghouse at the offices of Winston & Strawn in Washington, D.C. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss recent activities related to 10 CFR 50.59 and the updated final safety analysis report (UFSAR). Attachment 1 lists the meeting participants.
Attachment 2 is a copy of the staff presentation at the meeting.
During the meeting, the group discussed the status of industry and NRC initiatives related to 10 CFR 50.59, design bases per 10 CFR 50.2, and the UFSAR. The group discussed the relationship between industry and staff views on these topics and what steps could be taken to resolve any differences.
