Dear Judge Smith:

Please find enclosed correspondence from one of my constituants, Mr.

Maurice Murphy of Greenland, regarding off-site emergency plans for the Seabrook nuclear power plant.

Mr. Murphy is particularly concerned with the adequacy of provisions As I said to Mr. Murphy that are related to the safety of school children.

in my response to him, I would like to make his letter available to the ASLB for consideration, as his questions are ones that must have answers if the New Hampshire plans are to gain federal approval.

With warm regards, Robert C. Smith RCS:mp Enclosure 8801210167 080120 PDR ADOCK 06000443 C

Dear Mr. Smith,

Mere than a year ar.o I addressed the 1ttsched letter to Dr. Carl Wood, the Greenland is within the ten elle rrincloal of the Orcenland Central School.

eva eustlen zone surrounding the Se1 brook nuclear pisne.

. ! ace I wrote the letter neither Dr. Wood nor anyone else has been able to that Dr. Wood has polled the snsver sny of the questions I raised, except the schoci in the tescFers and discovered thst not one will scree to remain at event s a nuclear emergency.

Sr. Wood is f sced with the real possibility of standing alone with 250 children waiting for busses that may never come.

I hsve asked these questions directly and in letters to Oovernor Sununu. Civil Defense Director Strome, the Civil Defense Director of Oreenland and numerous Officials of the NRC.

Nobody, absolutely nobody has any answers.

to insist that if we must have an I ssk you, as a responsible public servant, evacuation plan then we must hsve one ubich has a reasonsble chance of working if we ever need it.

2bst can you do, whst can I do?
