Limerick Generating Station, Unit 1 lategrated Leak Rate Test (ILRT) Schedule
Dear Mr. Russell:
The purpose of this letter is to request Commission review and approval of the Limerick Generating Station, Integrated Leak Rate Test (ILRT) schedule in accordance with Limerick Technical Specifications and 10 CFR 50, Appendix J, paragraph III.A.6(a).
Limerick Technical Specification 4.6.1.2(b) states: "If any periodic Type A test fails to meet 0.75La, the test schedule for subsequent Type A tests shall be reviewed and approved by the Commission...".
During the Unit 1 First Refuel Outage a containment ILRT failed to meet 0.75La.
The containment penetrations that caused the ILRT limits to be exceeded during the last integrated leak rate test have been identified and will be tested during future local leak rate tests.
These penetration leskage rates can be monitored and controlled and therefore, will pose no threat to containment integrity.
A complete local leak rate testing (Type C testing)

The next ILRT (Type A test) is planned for the Unit I
1 Third Refuel Outage currently scheduled for the Fall of 1990.
