CORRECTION TO A SAFETY EVALUATION REGARDING GENERIC LETTER 95 VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION (TAC NO. M93533)

Dear Mr. Maret:

I By letter dated October 1,' 1998, the staff provided a Safety Evaluation (SE) regarding your l response to Generic Letter 95-07, " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves" at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. By letter dated November 13,1998, you provided two corrections / clarifications based on a review of the SE.

We have reviewed the corrections / clarifications and agree with the recommended wording

. indicated in your November 13,1998, letter. The corrections / clarifications do not change the l conclusions reached in the SE. We do not intend to issue a revised SE, however, a copy of this letter documenting our agreement with your corrections / clarifications should be maintained with the October 1,1998, letter and SE.
