Dear Mr. Bari:
I have reviewed the monthly letter status report for April 1988, for FIN No.
A3175, "Analyses of Special Waste Problems."
I have the following comments.
The monthly report correctly describes work accomplished during the reporting period on the Process Control Program (PCP) for solidification of low-level wastes (LLW) at the West Valley Demonstration Project. Two letter reports were received documenting the reviews of the PCP by BNL technical staff.
On page 1 of your memo, under the Cost Per Tasks for the West Valley LLW Task, the dollar figures shown for FY 88 Year to Date Costs, and the value shown for percent of maximum (costed), do not take into account the error reported in i
the March 1988 monthly letter status report.
This oversight also affects the

Funds reportec lor the whole contract.
Please correct these figures so that the ar.<>unts shown agree with my financial status records.
Task Crder No. 4 for continued technical assistance in reviewing West Valley LLW solicification has been prepared and sent to Brookhaven. This Task allows for an additional $45K of work on the PCP.
Actions resulting from this letter are considered to be within the scope of the S0W for FIN No. A3175.
No changes to cost or delivery schedules are autherized.
Please notify me imaediately if you feel this letter will result in additional costs or changes in delivery of contracted products.
