SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENC85 MONTH: MAY 1999 During most of the month of May, Unit 1 was still in cycle 20 refueling outage.
The outage was started on April 17th at 0011 when the generator was taken off-line.
Some of the items accomplished during the outage were:
Steam Generators, Eddy current inspection, repairs and hydrostatic testing, machining of the primary gasket seating surb:9s Core off-load, was required to replace In-core Flux Thimbles Cooling towers, inspections, repairs, overhaul and re-building Near the end of the outage the reactor was taken critical on the 25th at 0415 to perform the low power physics testing. The generator was first placed on-line on the 26th at 2145 for an eight hour soak prior to the overspeed testing and AFW tests. The generator was taken off-line on the 27th at 0918 to allow turbine overspeed and AFW testing. The generator was placed back on-line on the 27th at 1040. Over the next two days the Unit slowly ascended in power per required testing. The reactor and generator reached full power operation on the 29th at 1736.
