- D er onville, y,n 28y3 June 4, 1988 Secretary of the Commission Attn Docketing and' Service Branch U.S. Nuclear' Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Gentlemen It has come.to my attention that you are considering a new rule which would permit low-power testing prior to the installation of~off-site emergency sirens.
It is said that such low-power testing poses no threat outside the plant.
Anything that.can be done safely to speed up the completion and hold down the spiraling costs of nuclear plants should be given first hand consideration.
Considering the critical New England energy supply s'ituation; this rule change seems sensible and reasonable.
The Seabrook Station is built and ready'to go. Please use your influence to see that it goes on line with minimum delay.
You might say that Hendersonville is a long-way from New England, but I am an American and whatever effects New England will sooner or later effect me.
Thank you for anything you can do to help our economy.
Sincerely, Q
James L. Gaupp 8806240205 880604 e.
