1998 ANNUAL SITE INSPECTION REPORT
Dear Mr. Edge:
The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff has reviewed "1998 Annual Site Inspection and l
Monitoring Report for Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act Title ll Disposal Sites," dated l
September 1998. This report included the results of inspections at the Bluewater, New Mexico l
and Edgemont, South Dakota sites. Based on this review, we conclude that the inspections and the routine remedial measures that are being performed are acceptable.
The staff notes that minor sedimentation and vegetation growth have been observed at the sites. Although none of these problems appear to be significant at this time, your continued observations are important.
