During the week of September 12, 1989, the NRC administered exarninations to two
employees of your Laboratory who had applied for licenses to eserate the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology Reactor (MITR-!!) in Cambridge.

Massachusetts. Based on the~results of these examinations, both were granted
licenses. Details of the examinations are described in the NRC Region !
Examination Report which is enclosed with this letter.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's re ulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NR Public Document Room.
