This letter is in response to the inspection conducted by W. J. Slawinski of f your office frem August 31 through September 2, 1988 of activitles at the Zion  !,

Nuclear Power Station. The referenced letter indicated that certain activities ,

appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements. Cocenonwealth Edison i Compary's response to this violation is pros.1ded in the Attachment to this letter.

container volume, curie quantities, radionuclides, etc.) for each type of solid radioactive waste shipped offsite during the report period.

Contrary to the abcVe, the Semlannual Radioactive Release Report for January through June 1988 did not include data regarding solid radlonctive waste shipped offsite during the report period.

This la a Severity Level V Violation.

COR R ECT1YI_ACT1QLTA K EILRID_E E SU LTS_ ACllIIVID Two actions have been taken to correct the violation. First, an errata to the January through June 1988 Radioactive Release Report was submitted on September 26, 1988, and included the date regarding solid radioactive waste shipped of f sli) during the period. Second, the Technical Specification requirements for the report were reviewed by the individuals responsible for preparing the report. This review was conducted to assure that Individuals responalble for the report were made aware of the full requirements of the content of the report.
