meeting in which the Alloy 6001ssue Task Group (ITG) of the EPRI Materials Reliability Project met with the NRC staff to discuss plans for industry coordination to develop a generic response to a major portion of the NRC's RAls regarding GL 97-01. The purpose of this letter is to confirm our understanding that the NRC has agreed to extend the plant response submittal date to January 15,1999, if additional time is needed to incorporate the generic response into the plant specific responses. Since the TMI-l response is currently due by November 26,1998 l
and the generic responses will not be available until December 11,1998, GPU Nuclear will l
need additional time to complete our response which we intead to provide no later than ianuary 15,1999.
