l NRC Monthly Operations Sumary Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station May, 1988 UNIT 2 The unit remained shut down throughout the report period. Major activities in progress during the report period were scrar discharge volume vent and drain valve maintenance, inspection of the shroud manway access covers. #1 13kV auxiliary bus maintenance and E-1 and E-3 diesel generator maintenance.

UNIT 3 The unit remained shut down throughout the report period. Replacement of the Recirculation, Residual Heat Removal, and Reactor Water Cleanup Systems piping progressed through the month.

Technical Specifications to accommodate reload fuel and revise reactor core operating limits. Revisions to reflect modification to the primary system piping and installation of the Alternate Rod Insertion system.

The spent fuel pool storage capacity has been relicensed for 3819 fuel assemblies. This modification began on February 20, 1987. The completion date for this modification has been rescheduled for February, 1989 to accosusodate the Unit 3 pipe replacement outage.

The projected date of the last refueling that can be discharged to the spent fuel pool assuming the present capacity:

March, 1993 (reserve full core discharge cannot be acconaiodated after the restart following the completion of the October, 1987 refueling outage until the completion of the new fuel racks)

Installation of the new fuel racks will extend the projected rMe of the last refueling to September, 2000 (March, 1996, with reserve full core discharge) l
