SUBJECT:
SITE VISIT TO SIEMENS POWER CORPORATION,
- SNM-1227, RICHLAND, WASHINGTON On August 17 and 18,1998, Melanie Galloway and Paul Lain of the Licensing Branch and Merritt (Nick) Baker and Makuteswara (Srini) Srinivasan of the Tank Waste Remediation System Section visited Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) in Richland, Washington. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize NRC personnel with SPC management and the fuel cycle facility.
. Upon arrival on the afternoon of August 17, the NRC personnel met with Mr. Femreite, Vice President of Manufacturing, Mr. Kilian, Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Mr. Vaughan, Manager of Safety, Security, and Licensing, Mr. Bentley, Manager of Plant Operations, and
~ Mr. Maas, Manager of Regulatory Compliance. Mr. Femreite gave an overview of SPC world.
wide operations.-The rest of the aftemoon was allotted to visit with each Manager to discuss their area of oversight.
On August 18, Mr. Maas provided an overall facility tour and arranged a supervisor from each facility to provide the details of their facility's operation. The following facilities were visited:
